Karen is trained in both Japanese and Chinese style acupuncture as well as herbal medicine from the Seattle Institute of Oriental Medicine. Prior to studying acupuncture, Karen was a licensed massage therapist for over 10 years. As a result, treatments with Karen consist of a unique combination of acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine and manual therapy. Manual therapy modalities include craniosacral therapy, muscle energy techniques, fascial work and visceral manipulation. In each session, an individual’s imbalances are carefully assessed and the best modality is chosen to facilitate the greatest success in treatment. Karen’s special interests include treating gynecological disorders, digestive complaints, and both acute and chronic neuromuscular conditions.
