“Who looks outside, dreams.
Who looks inside, wakes.”
…. C.G. Jung

Life is an incredible journey and each of us has our own story within it. All of us encounter a multitude of experiences in life that can shape us in particular ways, and that also offer creative opportunities for the emergence of our own unique Self. The Hawaiians have a story that suggests that when we enter Life we are each given a Bowl of Light, and that our task is to honor that Light and carry it to the end of our lives. The story also tells us that through certain life experiences that Light becomes obscured, that there are times when we ourselves cannot even see it. These are often the times when entering a healing relationship can be helpful.   I trust that deep within each of us there is a capacity to find the way through our own particular journey, and to connect with our deepest Self to strengthen our capacity for life experience.

I see counseling as a way of clearing the obstacles that prevent us from seeing ourselves and others clearly and moving freely and creatively in our lives. In this way, we are each able to carry that Light into our lives and relationships.

My training and background as a counselor is an integration of my education through Antioch University completion of a BA degree and one year of Master’s Degree training in Psychology, the ongoing study of various perspectives in the field of psychology (including systems, humanistic, multi-cultural, family therapy, child and adolescent therapy and depth psychology), and learning from Native American and Native Hawaiian elders and healers. I have worked in the field of counseling for over 24 years, and have provided clinical supervision and consultation for other counselors and I am a certified counselor in the state of Washington.

I seek to facilitate mental and emotional clarity, spiritual process and practical action, and often offer creative processes such as dreamwork, storytelling and play therapy as part of this work. I have been practicing at Full Circle since 1999, where I work with children, adolescents and adults and offer individual, couples, and family counseling and co-facilitate Dream Circles.
